Did a last minute shoot for the London leg of the Haviana flip flops world tour on Sunday. One of those freelance jobs that is hard to turn down but not particulary my usual style. I did the job and had a lot of fun on the day, actually came out of it with some inspiration, I really liked these shots I did of the product whilst the girls were walking accross the famous Abbey Road zebra crossing.

3 weeks ago I travelled back home (Saltburn-by-Sea) for a school friends baby’s christening, making me feel extremely old ! Anyway, whilst I was home I went out for a run, along Marske Mill Lane, down into the woods and along past the valley gardens, coming up near the prom around past the beach…….I obviously had my work head on because instead of thinking of these places as childhood hang outs for the first time it occured to me that there were amazing locations for a fashion shoot. Importantly they also had played a big part in my younger life and I understood them inside out…….I kept on running, kept on thinking and soon came up with the fashion story ‘Home Sick’.

 Since I moved down to London 5 years ago my roots have always been extremely important to me and this project is giving me a way of combining my two lives. Models used will be local, the styllist (currently studying an MA in menswear at St.Martins) is local and we will take as much inspiration from the north as we possibly can. I am beginning to source models and think about the stylling for the shoot to go ahead this summer, on its completion I will pitch it as an editorial fashion story……..WATCH THIS SPACE…..

as promised I have just collected the first few films to go through my Lomography Lomo LCA+,( http://microsites.lomography.com/lca+/ ) I love them !  Last Saturday we ventured down to Wembley for the FA cup final between Chelsea and Everton. I didn’t initially go down to shoot anyone but to hang out with my bezzy ( www.neilbedford.com www.artsandthat.com ) as he is doing a beautiful project on football for his MA at The London college of Fashion. I took the little LCA+ and when we got there decided to shoot fans with beer cans ‘Fans with Cans’, a project that I am going to continue in the future.

Scott Busby is the hairdresser who I first worked with on the Raf Simons archive shoot. Scott asked me to go down to Vidal Sasson’s training academy at Davies Mews London and do some shots of the models he had beed working on for his final hairdressing exam. Here are a selection of the images……
