Rick Owens and Michele Lamy, Paris 2010 0

Whilst I was in Paris for the SS10 men’s shows I was fortunate enough to independently meet and shoot Rick Owens and his Wife Michele Lamy. For me, shooting portraits of interesting people inspires me and to be able to shoot such amazing individuals was a a great experience. I shot Michele at the Rick Owens SS10 show and met and shot Rick Owens at his Parisian showroom. Mr Owens expressed his distaste towards digital media and the internet especially where featuring himself, he seemed to like the fact that I was shooting on traditional film and would hopefully be ok about me digitizing him and his wife for the purposes of my blog!

Alexander McQueen RIP 0

I was fortunate enough to be at what turns out to have been Alexander Mcqueen’s last ever show during Milan Fashion Week. It was certainly a flamboyant and stand out show in an otherwise ’safe’ week. It was my first ever McQueen show and hearing the news this week of his tradgic death was shocking. I hope he has found peace, he leaves behind a true legacy.

quotation magazine 1

Quotation magazines Winter 2010 issue has just made its way over to the UK from Japan and features a great article on Damir Doma and oki-ni using images I took in Damir's Paris showroom last summer and of the Damir Doma archive . I'm so happy these images have been published as I shot them a while back and I really like them. They work well in this interesting publication and on the heavy matte paper its print on. If you can get hold of a copy its well worth a look.

wedding photography 0

I was hesitant when I was asked by my uncle to do the photography for his wedding as it was something I have never done one before and was extremely worried it just wouldn’t suit my style and approach. I decided to take it as a challenge and approach it in my own way. Everything was to be shot on 120 and 35mm film and I would shoot it how felt right to me rather than traditionally. Whilst preparing I had the sudden idea to take along a little point and shoot 35mm camera for my 6 year old cousin to document the day.
It was certainly a challenge and I found it all pretty stressful. However, I was very excited seeing the results from the camera I gave my cousin they came out brilliantly and gave a nice twist on the day. Look out for further shots from this 6 year old dynamo !

toomuchposse 0

Here are some images I shot for my good friends brand toomuchposse a while back. I must say I wasn’t going to post these images because I wasn’t happy with them at all. No excuses BUT on the day the weather was shite and by the time we got things started the light was seriously dropping it was a race against time to get the images shot the way I wanted. I have posted a few polaroids just to show that not everything goes according to plan, mistakes are all part of the process. toomucheposse is a great little brand and they are really starting to make waves, look out for the tees and be sure to check their site and blog….

damir doma aw10 paris fashion week 0

I have been seeing a lot of runway shows over the last couple of weeks and in all honesty there hasn’t been that much to get excited about. However, on Saturday night Croatian-born Designer had his aw10 show. Held in an old Parisian car park I was fortunate enough to get into a position where I could see all the the models being styled, tweaked and checked before they walked up the concrete ramp and onto the runway, I loved watching and shooting this process and backstage photography is something ill be hoping to do more of after this experience. The show certainly lived up to the hype and the reception of the crowd was like nothing I’ve seen before.
